Electronic music is one of the most dynamic genres shaped by technological advancements. The process that began with the invention of the Moog synthesizer in the 1960s turned into an artistic medium with Kraftwerk in the 1970s. While house and techno genres emerged in Chicago and Detroit during the 1980s, the 1990s witnessed the globalization of rave culture and electronic dance music (EDM). Today, thanks to digital audio workstations (DAW) like Ableton Live and FL Studio, anyone can produce studio-quality music at home. Berlin's underground clubs and Ibiza's massive festivals represent different facets of electronic music. In Turkey too, local electronic musicians have begun making names for themselves on the international scene in recent years.
